God's Faithfulness is a Scar

"Love's as hard as nails,
Love is nails:
Blunt, thick, hammered through
The medial nerves of One
Who, having made us, knew
The thing He had done,
Seeing (with all that is)
Our cross, and His."
-C.S. Lewis "Love's As Warm as Tears"

God's faithfulness is evident in the world around us if we take the time to stop and look for it. The atheist might argue that there is no God simply because they cannot see evidence of Him. I would disagree and say that if you take the time to stop and look around all the "coincidences" of life are more than just the sum of chance. God's faithfulness to man isn't always "pretty", clean, or safe. Take Jesus for example: What was his goal in coming to earth? To die as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind. This is the faithfulness of God that had been prophesied to the Jews for hundreds of years. Jesus bears the scars from the Father's faithfulness. His hands and side all bear the scars that are a sign of the Faithfulness that God provided mankind.

I was reminded, and will forever be reminded, of God's faithfulness to me and Lisa because of the scar that I bear as well. Around 10 inches of scar where the surgeon took out the tumors in my body. It wasn't a painless procedure, and I will most likely bear the scar for the rest of my life, but it serves as a reminder to this past year and everything God has done to be faithful to Lisa and I. He is working in us and He will not suddenly give up the work He has started.
