Today finds Lisa and I searching out more of what we are going to be doing with our lives as I continue to get stronger and, Lord willing, getting on with the lives we have been given.
Until just recently I was thinking about putting a lot of my life effectively "on hold" until I found out more about what was going on inside my body, but then I realized I could spend the rest of my life doing that. Always waiting until the NEXT doctor's appointment to do something and hoping that the cancer doesn't come back. Well, I've decided right now that until the cancer DOES come back I am going to act like it is well and truly gone. Until I hear otherwise I am a survivor and I am going to get on with my life and the things God has for me to do! Onwards I say! I mean honestly, if I spent my time worrying about things that would kill me it would be a full-time job. God has a plan for me and I don't want to hinder that plan because of fears in my life.
We're seriously considering joining the high school group at church as staff. Not sure how that will change our lives, but then again, we weren't sure how cancer would change our lives either. Either way, we feel blessed right now to be free to pursue some ways of serving God. I'm excited to see what happens!

You go!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Well said. Change others and be changed.
ReplyDeleteYou never know what your high school involvement might lead to - I hear there are a lot of teachers in the family.
ReplyDeleteIn an ideal world, it would be the elder teaching the younger. Here the younger is teacher his elder. As we go through a time of transition and change it is good to be encouraged by your words and actions.
